Ralph Storer is clearly a man possessed by the mountains of Scotland and elsewhere. This book is a very interesting look at what drives him and those of a similar persuasion to drag themselves away from home comforts to battle the gradients/elements/midges etc. It is a philosophical yet personal investigation, peppered with highly entertaining anecdotes. If you are of his ilk, or want to better understand somebody else who is, I reckon you'll enjoy "The Joy of Hillwalking" as I did.
